R.R Donnelley May Sell Asia Pacific Plants
CHICAGO—
Bloomberg has reported that R. R. Donnelley (RRD) , the largest in the US is considering the sale of all their Asia Pacific plants to raise cash and cut debt. The majority of the their Asian plants are in China. $800 million is the potential price. The sale would mark the U.S. printer's exit from the world’s second-largest economy after almost three decades.
The region accounts for almost 15% of RRD's total sales amounting to $900 million. They operates plants in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Japan, Australia and Singapore. If RRD’s sold their plants in China they would follow other global companies that have exited China. R. R. Donnelley is in 29 countries with 35,000 employees.
