Esko Selling Kongsberg Division To Private Equity Company
LOS ANGELES—
Esko is set to sell its Kongsberg cutting table business to private equity company OpenGate Capital. Kongsberg was founded in Norway in 1965 and was purchased by Esko (then Barco) in 1998. The sale includes the original research and development facility in Kongsberg, Norway and the production facility in Brno, Czech Republic. Esko makes integrated software and hardware products for the packaging, label and wide-format sectors.
Esko customers with Kongsberg systems will still be serviced with most of the servicing employees moving over to the new standalone company.
OpenGate head office in Los Angeles and Paris . OpenGate Capital has made a number of other print and packaging includeing Fusion Paperboard, a manufacturer of recycled paper products, speciality tapes manufacturer Duraco, high-quality speciality papers manufacturer Kotkamills, and white top testliner paper producer NorPaper.
