Sun Chemical New OptiPace Ink For High-Speed Litho
PARSIPPANY, NEW JERSEY—
Sun Chemical has added to its ‘Pace’ range of inks with a new SunLit OptiPace targeting users of high-speed sheetfed litho presses. The new ink joins the existing SunLit ProPace range. The inks, using Sun’s Pace Technology, are designed for the demands of more challenging printing applications. The ProPace has “proved the strength of the Pace platform and has become Sun's best-selling global sheetfed ink series”.
OptiPace delivers stronger colour, lower consumption and the same press stability, drying performance and sustainability benefits that have made Pace technology such a success with printers worldwide.” Features such as enhanced pigmentation mean that lower ink film weights are required. Sun Chemical also pointed to fewer blanket washes and the potential to dial down water settings by 10%-20%, resulting in quicker drying compared with conventional sheetfed inks and "supporting rapid post-print conversion and reducing waste and downtime”. SunLit OptiPace is available now. It is vegetable oil-based with no PTFE wax. Sun Chemical said the formulation contained up to 80% bio-renewable content.
