Worldcolor announces consolidation of its Toronto operations
TORONTO—This just in: Worldcolor announced late yesterday it is consolidating its Toronto area magazine, catalogue and inline direct mail operations into one facility in Aurora, Ont. This includes operations at the Richmond Hill facility, which will be transferred to the Aurora plant. Vice president communications Tony Ross says Worldcolor's Concord, Ont. location will not be affected in the changes.
The consolidation of the Toronto area operations will result in the reduction of approximately 200 employees. About 50 positions are expected to be created at the Aurora plant. Ross says these will be new positions but they will consider current employees with the necessary qualifications. The consolidation is expected to be completed by the end of March, 2010.
