Printers, publishers among companies honoured for green efforts
TORONTO—Transcontinental is among the companies honoured with the newly-created Ancient Forest Friendly Awards.

Nonprofit environmental advocate Canopy, which created the awards program earlier this year, has announced winners in the conservation supporters category (for advancing the protection of the world's remaining intact and endangered for forests) to Transcontinental and Scholastic, while gold prizes (given to companies and publications for use of Ancient Friendly Forest paper) will be given to 1984 Printing, Cottage Life magazine, Ecojot, Editions de Villers, iGiveCards, Mountain Equipment Co-op catalogues, MultiMondes, Saul Good Gift Co., Quill & Quire, and Watershed Sentinel.


Award recipients at the Nov. 17 ceremony in Toronto

Canopy said this year's winners stand out "among the hundreds of leading North American brands striving to improve their environmental performance."

The recipients will be honoured at an awards reception in Toronto on Nov. 17.
