Xerox Research Centre VP honoured for toner development
TORONTO—Xerox Research Centre of Canada vice president Hadi Mahabadi has been awarded the Printing Industries of America Robert F. Reed Technology Medal.

The award, which honours significant technology development in the printing industry was given to Mahabadi at the Printing Industries of America conference earlier this month.

Mahabadi said the award singled out two developments from the Xerox Research Centre of Canada, its work with toner that can be used on digital presses and the development of emulsion aggregation toner. “Emulsion aggregation toner is based on nano-technology,” said Mahabadi. “From the customer point of view they can print twice as much with this toner as traditional ones. It is also environmentally friendly.”

Having been with Xerox for 30 years, Mahabadi said the award win means a lot but he also said he is dedicating it to everyone at the research centre, without whom his work wouldn’t be possible.
