More downsizing even after a re-structure and a re-brand. Can you smell another bankrupcy?.....Trouble is a brewing. Unfortunate turn of events for the employees, hopefully homes can be found for more than they are saying. Good luck to all.

Very sad for the hardworking employees. Over the years I have worked with many quality people from the old QW. It seems strange that they can't compete these day's even after the restructuring. Given that they price work so low these days you would think they could at least keep existing customers. Best of luck to all. Hope you all find something quickly.

Does anyone know what fate holds for Qnet Media in Markham? Will this operation (flyers etc) be absorbed as well? If this is the case, I'm sure management will be fine, but the hard-working employees will pay the price of management incompetence.

Qnet has one major customer left. Home Depot. Contract is set to expire very soon if it hasn't already. If they lose this one they will just shut the doors.

Acquisition by Vertis?

This has been very predictable over the last 25 years. Why would anyone think this company could succeed?  The company has been lining the management's pockets for years.

Vertis might make sense but they just merged with ACG while in chapter 11. Neither Vertis or Worldcolor have the capital so they would need to borrow heavily. Not sure who would finance this merger. Also both companies need to invest hundreds of millions to get updated presses, folders etc. They have been running their plants into the ground with old crap for years. I know I wouldn't give them any of my money, not that I have any.

Being caught up in this merge, I too will be among the 200 employees losing my job. What does this mean for me? I am attempting to take a positive approach to this. I am still young, my college years are still recent behind me. I feel terrible for those 50-somethings who havent been in school for some 25-35 years. To lose the last inch of security left. I sure hope their packages are good enough to renew some education or at least get them by until perhaps an early retirement. As for me, I will move on. Sad to leave a company I have been with since fresh out of high school, a company that stuck by me and provided me with part-time employment while I completed college, and a company that (although many would disagree) provided me with vast opportunities for learning and growth. I started out as a helper on the floor, and now, as Richmond Hill closes its doors, I head back into the market looking for a job in Human Resources where perhaps I can impact others the way I have been impacted. Shocking for some to hear, but as much negativity that has come from this organization, I feel I have gotten a lot from this place. Good experiences, and bad....at least I have something to reference back to when it comes to looking at the affects my decisions as a Human Resources Professional will have on my future organizations.
