Canva Cutting Global Staff 22%

Canva has announced a major restructure, with more than 1,200 jobs to go worldwide, as the graphic design platform takes immediate action to simplify the way it operates. In a letter to all employees: “This is without doubt the hardest moment in our thirteen-year history" The job cuts will impact 1,271 people, 22% of Canva’s total headcount. Employees are known as “Canvanauts”. Canva said 2026 had been Canva’s “hardest year yet” and growth had slowed for the first time in a decade.

Canva is a free online visual communications platform . Featuring a simple drag-and-drop user interface and a vast range of templates ranging from presentations, social media graphics, posters, apparel to videos, plus a huge library of fonts, stock photography, illustrations, video footage, and audio clips, anyone can take an idea and create something beautiful. Cimpress (VistaPrint) has revealed a new strategic partnership with Canva that is set to go live across more than 25 countries by the end of September.
