Postmedia has confirmed it will shutter its printing press in North Bay, which is expected to impact the 11 employees at that facility. In an email to employees the publisher confirmed it will cease the print editions of the Sudbury Star, North Bay Nugget, the Sault Star, the Timmins Daily Press, the Elliot Lake Standard and Espanola's Mid-North Monitor. Those publications will become all-digital instead.Postmedia will also cease publishing the Cochrane Times-Post altogether.

Postmedia shut down their printing plant in Moncton , New Brunswick last April.Postmedia in June exited the flyer distribution market while Transcontinental expands its flyer distribution.The trends in the newspaper industry, including shrinking advertising revenue due to online news and higher costs of printing and distributing printed newspapers. Postmedia has been losing money on it's printed newspapers for years and has been trying to expand it's income from online advertising but total revenue keeps dropping.
