BERKSHIRE, UK—  Advertising business Advercado aims to rival e-commerce service Vistaprint as it accelerates development of its latest marketplace platform for independent printers. The British based company, which connects small businesses with independent out-of-home  advertising, is currently developing Version 2 of its marketplace platform, as it argues it offers a system to rival Vistaprint for small and medium-sized printers.With its new platform, currently in development, Advercado said print businesses will “no longer need to build or maintain your own e-commerce system to sell print online at scale”. Version 2 is being designed to make listing products simpler with a step-by-step user interface, while introducing “improved booking tools and greater scalability”. The variable product system allows printers to create a store page and list configurable products including customizable options, tiered pricing structures, centralized enquiry and booking management and a modern ordering experience.“This allows independent printers to present their services in the e-commerce‑ready format customers expect – without investing in custom website builds, plugins, payment integrations or maintenance,” the company said. Advercado operates on a commission-only model and is free to use for independent printers and for vendors to join. The new marketplace is currently under construction and due for release by Q4 this year.
