The transaction’s outside closing date is October 31. This would be an Asset Purchase by Dollco and would not be an acquisition of Mitchell Press as a company.  Mitchell plans to market or liquidate its remaining equipment and assets separately. Mitchell has applied for court approval, with a hearing scheduled for September 17. Reasons given for the companies demise include an unsuccessful investment of $5 million into a digital printing press that failed to generate expected returns due to technical issues (the "Failed Printing Press") also the loss of its largest customer that accounted for approximately 25% of annual sales.
