John Morris Industry Veteran Dies
TORONTO—
John Morris of McLaren Morris and Todd (MM&T) was 85. John and partner Al George built MM&T up to areal power house in the 90's. Major clients included Hallmark Cards and Trivial Pursuits. John was working late on a Friday when the originators of Trivial Pursuits walked in. John beleived in their idea. MM&T went on to print 100 million copies of the board game.The company was a significant player in the Canadian printing industry before being acquired in 1998 by the larger
U.S.-based printing and distribution company Mail-Well, which later operated as Cenveo. MM&T shifted its expertise into label work and is now part of WestRock Smurfit. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Sally Morris; his children, Douglas, Brent, and Joanna (Ryan Turner); and his four grandchildren, Austin and Colton Turner, and Brett and Ray Morris.
