Canada Post Changing Systems On July 2nd
OTTAWA—
Canada Post will migrate from their current SAP platform to the next generation cloud-based SAP solution. This upgrade will immediately improve how customers ship, mail and access parcel pricing. It will also provide improved billing and invoicing. Canada Post intended stated a target go-live date of September 3, 2024. Canada Post had re-aligned the target date to July 2, 2025. These changes may impact some customers accounting processes. Parcel rates, price changes for Parcel Services will come into effect with the 2025 implementation

The new pricing grid offers more competitive rates across a wider range of shipping lanes. Shipping requirements customers must continue to transmit their manifest data prior to pickup or deposit. Canada Post is introducing event-based billing for parcel shipments. This means customers will only be billed for items that are physically scanned in Canada Post's network. All charges, including adjustments, will appear on a single consolidated invoice per invoicing period, grouped by product type (if applicable) for easy reconciliation, with filtering available on the data file. Any were from 60% to 70% of what is printed goes through the mail.
Canada Post lost a lot of parcel business in the last two postal strikes and is trying to get it back.
