John Warnock Co-creator of Postscipt Dies

Adobe co-founder Dr John Warnock has died aged 82. Warnock and his partner, the late Dr Charles ‘Chuck’ Geschke, set up Adobe in 1982. The two met while working at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Centre, where they developed a page description language. Adobe’s first product was PostScript,the page description language that created the desktop publishing and then changed the printing industry.
John retired as Adobe CEO in 2000 and became co-chairman with Geschke until 2017. Heremained on the Adobe board of directors to the end. Adobe now employs more than 29,000 people and the company is valued at more than $231 billion. Other Adobe products include Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Postscript Fonts
