KOTKA, FINLAND,—   Stora Enso is one of Europes largest packaging and paper mills is planning to permanently close down its Sunila pulp mill in Southern Finland, the De Hoop containerboard site in the Netherlands, one containerboard line at its Ostrołęka site in Poland. Stora Enso is planning a restructure that, will result in around 1,150 job losses. The company said “This sadly means that assets suffering from challenged profitability would need to be closed, in combination with a more streamlined headquarter organization. Stora Enso in April this year permanently close one of its paper machines at its Anjala mill in Finland and in 2021 closed its giant Veitsiluoto pulp and paper mill in Finland. The closing of Island Paper Mill Vancouver in October, Domtars closure of four North American Mills , Stora Enso huge Finland Mill shut down, Neenah Paper's Appleton Mill, the bankruptcy of Arjowiggins and Lecta shut down a machine at its Condat mill have all dramatically reduced the supply of fine or printing paper worldwide.
