Spanish plate manufacture

Agfa increases plate business in two deals. Agfa has bought the Spanish plate manufacture Ipagsa. Ipagsa makes thermal CTP plates, conventional, processless and violet CTP plates. They mainly  sell to  European and South American  at the lower price end of the market. Ipagsa has sales around $60 million.

 

 

Chinese plate manufacture

 Agfa also announced a partnership with Lucky HuaGuang Graphics of China. The state own company makes offset plates, flexo plates, graphic arts film and PCB film. Lucky HuaGuang Graphics has about 30% to 40% of the local market. The intent of this partnership is to capture a bigger share of growth markets. Agfa is one of the three major plate manufactures in North America, Kodak, Fuji and Agfa.
