PICKERING—K-North Services has installed the first Komori GLX 8c with tower coater in North America at Ellis Packaging. The GLX was released in the summer in Tokyo, Japan, is rated at 18,000 sph and comes with a fully automatic non-stop feeder and delivery with an integrated conveyor system. The coater will come with the highest level of sheet and colour inspection available in Komori PQA-S and PDC-SX.


It’s equipped with a dual UV system capable of running low energy UV and conventional UV products and is Komori’s most environmentally friendly machine. The GLX will run on food grade lubricants as opposed to petroleum-based products. Ellis Packaging—part of the Ellis Group—has three plants in Ontario and has also installed a GLX at its Mississauga plant.
