RICHMOND HILL, ON—In a few weeks Canada’s first Xeikon 8600—a roll to sheet device— will be installed at Basset Direct.

Bassett Direct, currently celebrating its 20th anniversary is a shop experienced in direct mail and direct marketing. Rich Bassett, the president and owner said Basset Direct is not a printer in the true sense of the word, but one-to-one marketing specialists.  The new addition will be used to help grow that aspect of the business.


The new Xeikon 8600

“The 8600 has a DPI of 1200, so very high quality,” Bassett said. “It’s a one pass duplex press. The speeds are about 200 pages per minute and again that’s duplex so if you compared to some of the other competitive equipment that’s simplex, it’s much faster and it can actually use over 6 million pages per month.”

A wide variety of paper stock can be used with the 8600. Virtually any paper grade is acceptable, from a 50 pound to a 12-point.
