OTTAWA—An upward tick in national printing shipments is proving to be the overall trend for 2012.

Every month except for March has seen figures rise from corresponding months in 2011, with an almost 20% jump in October. Even if December's upcoming numbers drop slightly, 2012 was largely positive territory with a year-to-date rise of 5.6%.

Here are the monthly printing shipments (in millions) for September through November.
