RockTenn to close another Quebec plant
MONTREAL—RockTenn's cardboard plant in Ville St-Laurent will shut down March next year, said a story from Quebec industry source Le Maître papetier. The closure will result in 90 job losses, said the report.

According to the story, president local Claude Vaillancourt said that Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union (CEP-FTQ) members were expecting the news, as the union already made concessions in early 2012 that ultimately were not enough to save the factory.

CEP-FTQ plans to meet with management from RockTenn, based in Norcross, GA, to discuss future options for the plant's employees, said the report.

The news follows RockTenn's closure of its Matane containerboard mill in January, a move that resulted in the loss of 108 jobs.
