Trade numbers tell positive story
OTTAWA—December imports, exports and overall trade activity in 2010 inched ahead of ahead of 2009, according to StatsCan. This is the seventh consecutive month that exports and imports have outpaced results from 2009.
Exports in 2010 are up .2% over 2009; while imports have grown .5%. Our printing balance of trade is also improving, finishing the year with a deficit of $365.3 million, just 1.4% down from 2009.
