Worldcolor closing St. Romuald, Québec plant
ST. ROMUALD, QUE.—Worldcolor is closing a book production plant effective April 9. Vice president of communications Tony Ross confirmed the news, saying employees were told of the closure yesterday and approximately 150 jobs will be lost in the decision.
Work done at the plant, which opened in 1974 and was purchased by Worldcolor in 1982 will be consolidated into other facilities.
Ross would not comment on what will happen to equipment at the plant. A source close to the company said the closure was due to the plant being “uncompetitive.”
