AIIM lays off 8, installs new folder
AURORA, ON—Avant Imaging & Information Management (AIIM) has laid off eight employees since January, CEO and chairman Mario Giorgio confirmed to PrintCan today. He called them “temporary layoffs” and said those employees would be back once business picks up again, likely in September of this year.
Despite the bleak economic times, AIIM has also made some investments, Giorgio said. It recently added a new Baum Folder to its pressroom, designed for scoring, folding, clip sealing and inkjetting online. AIIM also donated $2,500 to Ryerson University and $10,000 to Alzheimer’s research.
AIIM is a commercial printer specializing in data management, direct marketing, prepress and finishing. It was founded in 1990, and employs about 100 people.
