Transcontinental Expands Raddar Platform Across Canada
MONTREAL—
Transcontinental has announced the nationwide expansion of raddar, its mass media platform that combines advertising and news into recyclable, multi-page, printed flyers delivered weekly by Canada Post. The expansion, set for the week of June 15, will add about 6.8 million households to the 4.8 million copies already distributed weekly in Quebec and British Columbia – bringing total weekly distribution to about 11.6 million.
The rollout will also offer customized targeting through 500 weekly versions covering some 20,000 households. Transcontinental reinvented its Publisac flyer service with the "raddar" foldedflyer a shift to a thin leaflet. Transcontinental has a network of 13 plants in
Canada and some 3,500 employees. The company produces a range of printing for flyers, in-store marketing products, newspapers, magazines and colour books. Even after the sale of its packaging division it will still be the largest printer in Canada with over a billion in sales.
