 Stora Enso is consolidating its book paper capacity and permanently close one of its paper machines at its Anjala mill in Finland. Stora Enso one to the worlds largest paper mills blamed weak paper demand and high input costs for the closure, which will reduce the mills annual capacity from 435,000 tons to 185,000 tons. accelerated, and has also reached the previously more stable book paper market. The Anjala closure is only the latest action in Stora Enso’s vast restructuring programme, announced in Spring 2022, which has seen it sell three of its five paper production plants. In 2022 Store Enso said paper is no longer a strategic growth area for the company.
