Transcontinental Sales Up , Profits Down
MONTREAL—
Transcontinental announces its results for the third quarter of fiscal 2021. Strong growth in revenues and solid profitability in the Printing and Media Sectors. Revenues increased by $34.2 million, or 5.8%, from $587.4 million in the third quarter of 2020 to $621.6 million in the corresponding period of 2021. This increase is mainly attributable to the Printing Sector, which posted organic growth of over 14%, while it had been more affected by the pandemic in the prior year
. Operating earnings decreased by $25.1 million, or 33.3%, from $75.3 million in the third quarter of 2020 to $50.2 million in the third quarter of 2021. Transcontinental expect to continue generating significant cash flows. This should enable them to reduce net indebtedness, while providing the flexibility needed to pursue their investment strategy focused on organic growth as well as strategic and targeted acquisitions.
