Transcontinental -Fined for Pressman's Injuries

 Transcontinental  has fined $60,000 for an injury sustained by a second pressman at the old web flyer plant in Brampton. The pressman lost two fingers while trying to repair the cain on the press. Transcontinental pleaded guilty  to breaching the Occupational Health and Safety Act in connection with the August 2018

incident and for failing to provide information, instruction and supervision to a worker in relation to safety locking out the press . The worker that was injured had been told to leave the press alone and to wait for maintenance. The worker still tried to fix the press and was injured. The Brampton printing plant was closed down this year.
