4over has announced the permanent closing of their Canadian plant in Mississauga. This is part of a North America restructuring. The 36,000 square foot plant had about 55 employees, a Komori 29 and 40' six colour presses plus 3 cutters and other bindery equipment. It is estimated the Canadian operation did about $11 million in sales.

4over still intends to service their Canadian clients from their plants in New Jersey and Ohio. The staff was originally put on temporary lay off back in March but it was made official this week that it is now a permanent closure. 40ver is a trade gang run printer. They have sales of about $270 million US , 1500 employees and 9 plants in the US. They plan to consolidate into 7 plants in the US. Their main competitors in Canada are Sina Lite and P1 Express.

Bad morale. Wages poverty level for Canada, but high for US standards. Lack of professionalism, cohesion between departments, them/us mentality. Poor communication.

wages were high according to US head office. Bad morale. Dissention in the ranks. Cliques, incompatible workers.

anyone surprised by this move ? honestly I am surprised they lasted this long and that was pre COVID.........they will not be the last victim of the virus.
