FAIRFAX , VIRGINIA— Printing Industries of America (PIA) and Specialties Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) members have voted to merge the two associations. The two organizations boards had agreed to merge subject to a membership vote. The merger will take place on May 1st of this year. The name of the new organization is still to be decided. The headquarters will be in Fairfax Virginia the current head office of SGIA.  SGIA acquired  Printing Impressions, the US printing magazine in August of 2019. They also rebranded their trade show to Printing United in 2019. OPIA( Ontario) , Print Forward Printing & Imaging Association ( BC) and the Manitoba Print Industries Association will become affiliates of the new association.
