Hume installs the Xerox Brenva HD
TORONTO—Hume Media, a Toronto-based full-service digital and print media company, has installed a new Xerox Brenva HD Production inkjet Press.

President John Hume acquired the press in order to grow the company’s short to mid-run, colour digital print segment of the business.

“We do over a million digital color impressions monthly now, but we’ll be able to triple that with the Brenva,” Hume said. “We’ll also increase our competitiveness when printing books approaching volumes of 1,000 per title. In the short-run segment, Brenva will make us faster, more productive and cost-effective without sacrificing the quality our clients expect – with pricing that is very competitive.”

According to Xerox, the Brenva offers best-in-class automation and reliability features to maximize press productivity including:
  • an inline spectrophotometer to assist with calibration and profiling;
  • an Object-oriented color management to distinguish text, graphics and images and optimizes the image quality of each accordingly;
  • K-only mode so it will run as a cost effective monochrome press.
