Keynote lineup announced for Print World 2012
TORONTO—Print World Trade Show and Conference has announced
two keynote addresses and two special presentations for its 2012 session on November 17-19.
“Our lineup this year promises colourful commentary, hard facts, reliable assessments of technology, and news that impacts print operations. In short, there’s something of value for everyone,” says Sandy Donald, Print World show manager.
Warren Werbitt (pictured), president of Pazazz Printing in Montreal, outspoken, opinionated, and colourful, will open the conference component of Print World with a keynote address on Sunday, November 18, that touches on some of his favourite themes: making clients aware of how necessary print is to the success of their businesses, and resisting selling print on price only.
Also on Sunday, two special presentations will feature Josh Ramsbottom, director of the Centre for Excellence in Print Media at Norquest College in Edmonton; and Frank Romano, professor emeritus from RIT and world-renowned industry guru.
Ramsbottom will deliver original research on the Canadian printing industry, identifying key trends in production, employment and productivity, particularly in comparison with the wider manufacturing industry. And, of course, offer a roadmap of opportunities for growth.
Romano will offer his no-holds-barred take on the technology presented at Drupa, looking at what will fly and what will flop as the equipment hits the commercialization phase. Does the buzz deliver substance?
On Monday, November 19, Jacques Côté, group president of physical mail division at Canada Post, will update attendees on the transformation strategies the crown corporation is implementing for more efficient delivery of direct mail. This includes the new mail guide specifications to be unveiled at Print World.
The keynotes and special presentations are only one part of the Print World Conference. Stay tuned for other news of seminars and special features during the show days.
Print World takes place on November 17-19 at the Direct Energy Centre in downtown Toronto.
