Pacific Bindery and Arkwel Industries merging
VANCOUVER—Pacific Bindery Services in Vancouver is merging with Arkwel Industries (Arkwel) to "provide increased value for customers".

Pacific Bindery, a trade bindery and finishing services facility, services Western Canada and North Western United States. It has been operating within the printing industry for 40 years.

Also in Vancouver, Arkwel has been providing steel rule die making services, die cutting and and other specialty finishing services to the Western Canadian marketplace for the past 35 years.

The transaction will close on April 21 of this year, and the "two organizations will work together during the following 12 months to transition the Arkwel operations to the Pacific Bindery location".

Pacific Bindery's general manager, Kris Bovay, noted, “Customers will benefit from increased efficiency and productivity resulting from this merger. Pacific Bindery and Arkwel will become a one-stop shop for post press services.”

Bovay added, "Arkwel will be a division of Pacific Bindery, and the company will be working on a rebranding over the next two years. The first priority will be to focus on synergies that benefit our customers."
