Sherbrooke printing business re-emerges as Cardston
POINT-CLAIRE, QC—After shutting down twice, Graphica in Sherbrooke, Quebec, has apparently re-emerged as Cardston Inc. printing gift cards, trading cards, packaging and more.
"It is difficult to accept but Graphica had to close its doors," said Gino Gaudreau, sales executive for Cardston, noting there was a "difficult economic environment."
The printing facility owned by PDI closed down earlier this year and put at least 30 employees out of work according to Quebec media reports. The closure came less than three years after PDI brought the plant out of receivership.
PDI announced in late 2008 it was reopening the plant after it purchased all of the assets of Grafikom - Sherbrooke (formerly known as Graphica). Grafikom shut down in November, 2008, after declaring bankruptcy.
Stay tuned for more details about the new company.
