Canada Post increases rates, names new CEO
OTTAWA—Canada Post has increased its rates for 2011 and named a new president and CEO to head the Crown Corporation.
The price of mailing a letter is up two cents in Canada and three cents in the U.S. as of January 17.
Taking over the helm of Canada Post for a five year mandate is Deepak Chopra. Most recently Chopra worked as president and CEO of global mailing and communication technology company Pitney Bowes in Toronto, according to a press release.
Chopra takes over the position from Moya Greene, who left in July to head the Royal Mail in Britain. Greene had been CEO at Canada Post since May, 2005.
