Webcom installs Magnum Flex Book
TORONTO—Webcom has launched BookFWD, its production program of books, catalogues and directories with the installation of a Magnum Flex Book system which will be bolted to its HP T300 inkjet web colour press.
The Barrie, Ont.-manufactured Magnum Flex Book system has the ability to convert prints into book blocks at a rate of over 3,000 books per hour on the machine, says partner Steve Fyfe. It is capable of a web width of up to 43” and speeds up to 800 fpm, although the installation at Webcom currently operates on a 30-inch platform. It also has a ribbon control section which can process as many as eight ribbons to increase throughput on digital print runs.
