Quad/Graphics restructures Canadian operations
SUSSEX, WI—Quad/Graphics has announced plans for restructuring its Canadian operations.

The plan includes a $23 million investment in its infrastructure and manufacturing platforms, closing the St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., printing plant, and refocusing the Edmonton plant on  inserts and directories.

The company’s planned multi-million dollar investment will go into upgrading equipment and infrastructure. Some of the money will also go to enhanced training and education for  employees. In additon, the company says it will expand its cross-media marketing services for retailers, publishers and other advertisers.

The St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu printing plant employs approximately 270 people and sits in a 240,000 sq. ft. facility. Client work will be moved to other plants. The company will have eight remaining plants in Canada.

30 positions will also be eliminated in Edmonton.
