Gagliano named AGO president
TORONTO—Tony Gagliano, chairman and CEO of St. Joseph Communications, has been named president of the Art Gallery of Ontario's board of trustees.
"Tony brings his considerable leadership experience and energy to the presidency of the AGO as it begins a new and already celebrated chapter," gallery director and CEO Matthew Teitelbaum said in a statement.
Gagliano has been on the AGO’s board of trustees since 2003 and vice-president since 2005. He replaces TD Bank CEO Charlie Baillie as top dog in June.
A co-founder of Toronto's Luminato arts and culture festival, Gagliano was heavily involved in the AGO’s recent expansion, helping to collect $13 million in donations from more than two dozen Italian-Canadian families.
