Goss to sell Akiyama and Vpak presses in Canada
With the development of new variable-repeat web offset packaging press
models and the integration of AkiyamaÕs North American organization, Goss International is
now offering an extended range of products to the Canadian market.

Sunday Vpak packaging presses
The newGoss Sunday Vpak presses present competitive and differentiating web offset
advantages for flexible packaging, label and folding carton applications. Using proven
concepts from Goss Sunday presses, the specialized packaging models are designed to
exploit the print quality, efficiency and productivity advantages of the web offset process.
Vpak presses are available in web widths up to 75 inches and feature quick-change sleeve
technology to allow variable repeat settings.

Goss International sales vice president Graham Trevett says that packaging printers have
expressed interest in the newGoss Vpak press option due to the proven print quality, speed
and low-waste efficiency of the Sunday press platform. He notes that Goss InternationalÕs
experience in automation, wide-web formats and process integration are additional
advantages in packaging applications.

Akiyama Sheetfed presses
Goss International assumed responsibility for sales and support of Akiyama products in
Canada, including the unique Jprint perfecting sheetfed presses, earlier this year. The
agreement gives new and existing Akiyama users the support of the large-scale Goss
International parts and service operation.

The Akiyama Jprint press in particular, with the innovative perfecting technology, offers a
compelling alternative to traditional four-over-four sheetfed perfectors, explains Trevett.
Our North American infrastructure now provides a substantial platform to support existing
customers as well as a growth strategy for these products in the region, he adds.
Through these new developments, the Goss International team can give Canadian printers
access to a wider spectrum of options, all of which are backed by our substantial North
American support resources, Trevett explains.
