Fujifilm is set to close one of its offset plate production lines in Europe at the end of the year, resulting in the loss of more than 100 jobs. The difficult financial situation of  graphics market in Europe as one  reason given for the cuts. The  high raw material prices and increasing market  pressure and the associated price erosion were reasons also given .

Agfa Graphics closed its offset printing plate manufacturing facility in  New Jersey at the end of of 2019 as part of its plan to optimize its global production capacity  for offset plates. The Agfa-Gevaert is one of the three major suppliers of offset plates in North America and Europe along with Kodak and Fujifilm. How much the  US tariff on aluminum had to do with any thing to do any of these plant closure  decision has not been mentioned .
