Jean Neveu, Quebecor chairman, passes away
FLORIDA—Quebecor Inc.’s chairman Jean Neveu died of a heart attack on March 11, at his Florida vacation home, passing away in his sleep. He was 70.
 
Jean Neveu had a long career at Quebecor and its printing divisions, holding several key senior management positions.

He joined Quebecor in 1969 as controller and occupied several management positions before leaving the company in 1979 to become part of a major publishing house and magazine distributor.

In 1988, he returned to the company and when Quebecor Printing  was created in January 1989, Neveu was appointed president and CEO, a position he held until December 1997 when he was appointed chairman of the board, a position in which he continued to serve until 2002.

In December 1997, he became president and CEO of parent company Quebecor Inc., a position he held until April 1999, when he was appointed chairman. From March 2003 until March 2004, Neveu also helmed Quebecor World, the corporate entity formed when Quebecor took over World Color.
 
He leaves behind his wife, Doris Guerette, and three children, Marie-Josée, Louis-Philippe, and Émilie.
