New location, press for Phipps Dickson Integria
KIRKLAND, QC—In addition to moving their Saint-Laurent and Lasalle locations into the Kirkland plant one week ago, Phipps Dickson Integria (PDI) has also purchased a Roland 900XXL press from Manroland.

The reason for the purchase, besides not wanting to move an old press says chief operating officer, Gaetano Di Trapani is that he had been looking at buying a large-format press for a while and now was the best time. “In Europe, large-format presses are run of the mill,” he says. “They’re a lot more common there than they are in North America.” He says there are significant advantages to having a large-format press, even in the publication business.

As for the move which was done to bring the company to one location, Trapani says it has gone relatively smoothly considering the size of the task. “It’s been very complicated but relatively trouble free, given the size of the move,” he says. “We are moving three companies that were located in three different places so for the size of the move, it has gone well.”
