Xpedx buys Gould Paper Canada
TORONTO—Just four days after Unisource announced that its planned aquisition of Gould Paper Canada had been cancelled, Xpedx, a subsidiary of International Paper, announced the purchase of the Vancouver-based fine paper distributor for an undisclosed amount.
"This is an exciting opportunity for xpedx Canada to expand its market reach to three major western Canadian markets—Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton," stated Michael Kearney, vice president, xpedx Canada. "Gould Paper (Canada) has a strong reputation for providing great customer service. The combined business will enhance the value of our expanding distribution business, and position us for future growth."
Gould Paper Canada, which employs approximately 65 people, with distribution facilities in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, will operate as part of Xpedx Canada.
