Print World Wrap up
Highlights from the show floor
The Direct Energy Centre came alive with nearly 10,000 industry representatives filling the aisles.
Print World welcomed its first-ever Chinese press manufacturer, Hans-Gronhi Technologies, which sold its 4-colour press to a printer in Mississauga.

SOLD
While the economy was on everyone’s mind and the topic of almost all conversations, sold signs were ubiquitous by the third day of the show. Heidelberg, Fujifilm, Gandinnovations, K-North, and Océ were just some of the exhibitors who hung up sold signs.

Trade show tradition – As they do at almost every trade show, attendees line up to pick up their copy of a map of the world at the KBA booth.
HP brought its new DesignJet 65500 inkjet device and announced a new distribution agreement for its products. Mondrian-Hall, Unisource and Access Imaging now distribute HP inkjet production devices, while the Indigo digital presses and Scitex industrial inkjet printers will continue to be sold directly by HP.
Design City, a show within a show, made a repeat appearance at Print World. More than 1,100 designers came for a visit.
Once again, inkjet devices turned in a strong showing at the show. Agfa’s Anapurna, for example, was a key attraction at the ND Graphics booth.
Always a key attraction, the Print Software Theatre drew large crowds to the software presentations.
While the star of the Xerox booth was the new iGen 4, a web-to-print offering also garnered attention: Printsys, an entry level web-to-print system from Montreal-based Prisme Technology. It targets the business-to-consumer market and can be had for under $20,000.
Canon occupied one of the largest booths. It released its imagePRESS C1+ at the show. Other digital press debuts included the C900 at Ricoh, and the Bizhub Pro 2500 and C6501 models at Konica Minolta.
Presstek debuted its flagship press, the 52 DI, now with UV option, to printers in Canada.
